The Little Pillars curriculum is developed by a qualified and registered Perth Teacher. Our Islamic classes in Thornlie are designed to provide an engaging and age appropriate environment, to teach children aged 3-12 the basics of Islam. We do this by ensuring we include fun in our classrooms!

Our Classes

Mini Pillars | 3-5 years

9am - 10am Sundays

Mini Pillars is split into two parts, the first half of the class focuses on Arabic and Qur'an. We teach the recognition of 3-6 Arabic letters and memorisation of 1-2 surahs, over the course of each term. The second half of the class is the weekly topic, which involves a story and related craft activity. We are very repetitive in this group - repetition allows for children to firmly grasp the lessons taught.

Little Pillars | 6-8 years

1015am - 1115am Sundays

Little Pillars is split into two parts, Qur'an/Arabic and the weekly topic. We support the recognition and formation of 6 Arabic letters, including their variations (for example - here are two different formations of the letter “jeem” جج ), as well as their sounds. This group practices reciting 2 surahs a term. We then read a story and have a discussion based on the weekly topic, with a related craft activity.

Pillars of Faith | 9-12

1130am - 1230pm Sundays

Pillars of Faith is also a beginners class which has benefit our students from both public and Islamic schools. We have a focus word and topic each week, which we discuss and read about together. The focus word is written in Arabic and we practice the letters and sounds in it, while also tracing and writing it to become familiar with the language. This group also has a craft activity, related to the topic.

About the Teachers

Asalamu Alaikum! We are a husband and wife team, who formed Little Pillars in 2021. After not being able to find a madrasah near by that was fun and engaging for our young children, we decided to open one of our own, Alhamdulilah!
